Multiplication is better than addition

Feb 20, 2023

Math was not my favourite subject in school. My teachers would ask things like, “If Johnny has five apples in one hand and six apples in the other hand, what’s little Johnny got?” And I would think, Big hands!

I was not interested in math at all, but I learned early on in kindergarten that multiplication is a lot more powerful than addition. I realised when I multiplied things the total amount would increase more quickly.

Our God is a God of multiplication and increase.

First Corinthians 3:6-7 says,

I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

So, God is a multiplier; He is one of increase. He wants you to increase, and He has plans for you to grow. Your part is to sow, but the good news is that He supplies everything you need to do that.

The Word teaches this about financial increase:

1. God supplies the seed.

2. You sow the seed.

3. You water what you’ve planted with words of faith.

4. God brings the increase.

Do you see that? God is responsible for bringing the growth. It’s a great deal!

You’ve got seed today because of what God has put in your hands. You need to sow it and then water it with words of faith, believing that you’ve received the increase.

Let me tell you, God is into multiplication. He wants to increase you.

He wants you to look far beyond where you are now, toward increase. He wants you to grow not only financially but also in your influence, in your church, and in your ministry. Look to bigger things, look up, and look beyond—God wants you to grow in every area of your life.

In this insightful teaching, Andrew Wommack discusses the crucial balance between grace and faith in salvation, explaining that while grace signifies God’s unconditional favour and offers salvation to everyone, it is faith that enables individuals to receive this gift, highlighting that grace alone is not enough and an active faith is necessary to access what God has provided.
