It really is true!
What is in you is going to determine what comes out of you. Proverbs 23:7 is not just true for believers.
For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.
Proverbs 23:7 (NKJV)
As a man thinks in his heart, so is he. It didn’t say, “As a believing man thinks in his heart…. It just says as a person thinks in his heart, so is he. Again, the internal is going to affect the external.
How do we see ourselves?
What do we think about ourselves?
What do we think about a particular situation?
When someone says, “It’s always God’s will to heal. It’s always God’s will for you to live in health.” What do you think about that? How do you process it? Do you think, Yeah, but my body sure doesn’t feel that way! Or do you grab hold of what the Word of God says and declare ‘By His stripes, I am healed!’
Words are seeds that produce after their own kind, just like everything God created. And there is no more powerful seed than the Word of God.
When we plant seed that’s already alive and powerful (the Word of God) into our hearts, that seed already contains the image of what’s in those words. That image will produce an identity. We will either identify with the truth of the Word of God on a heart level or we will instead identify with what we see in the natural. And it’s easy to tell what we identify with by what we say.
Andrew Wommack says, “It’s all about where you put your ‘but’!”
If you say,
The Word may say I’m healed, BUT I sure don’t feel like it!
You’ll reap on the seed you are planting. However, if you say,
My body may not feel very well, BUT the Word of God says I’m healed. So, I AM HEALED!
You’ll reap on the seed you are planting
We’ve got to get our inner man in sync with what Christ has already done on our behalf.
Identify with the Word, and put your ‘but’ in the right place!
