Better Than Any Miracle

Apr 5, 2022

The resurrection of Jesus changed everything!

Luke 24 says that two disciples were walking to Emmaeus and talking,

… while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them. But their eyes were holden that they should not know him. And he said unto them, ‘What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad?’

—Luke 24:15-17

They were talking about having heard that Jesus was raised from the dead. They were talking about the right things, but they were still sad because they didn’t believe it.

They were reasoning, struggling to believe it, and the Word says their eyes were ‘holden’. Holden means to seize by force; to hold captive. They did not recognise Jesus.

We must receive the revelation of Jesus from our hearts. It will make sense to our minds once they’ve been renewed, but it doesn’t make sense to the natural mind. If they had recognised Jesus, they wouldn’t have been sad, but they were used to knowing Him physically. So, Jesus took Scripture, showed them who He was, and as soon as they recognised Him by the Spirit, He disappeared.

The Lord is a Spirit (Jn. 4:24). He wants us to know Him in Spirit and truth—not just in a physical, natural way. There’s a greater blessing in knowing God spirit to Spirit than there is in knowing Him physically.

He appears to people all over the world today, but their eyes are still holden, and they can’t see Him because they are trying to figure it all out, just as the disciples did.

We need to have the scales removed from our eyes to perceive that Jesus is with us whether there is any physical manifestation or not. We see miracles all the time. There’s more than enough proof that He’s alive and with us. Yet many still search for glory clouds and gold dust.

God is not trying to come down to our level, He’s trying to bring us up to His!

If we would shut our heads down for a minute and let the Holy Spirit speak to our hearts, we would never be sad again! It’s impossible to be sad, depressed or in fear when you know that the resurrected Lord will never leave you nor forsake you.

But the greatest thing ever—better than any miracle—is to have your heart burn within you as God Almighty communes with you, Spirit to spirit, and reveals Himself to you through His Word!

Happy Easter Sunday

Grace and Faith – The Balance

In this insightful teaching, Andrew Wommack discusses the crucial balance between grace and faith in salvation, explaining that while grace signifies God’s unconditional favour and offers salvation to everyone, it is faith that enables individuals to receive this gift, highlighting that grace alone is not enough and an active faith is necessary to access what God has provided.
