3 Proven Keys to Get You Out of that Rut!

May 15, 2023

Are you stuck in a rut?

Stop waiting for someone else to come to rescue you. Don’t put your breakthrough in the hands of someone else. The keys to moving forward out of your rut are within reach.

1. Use what you have

Focusing your attention on what you don’t have will keep you in a rut. Nobody has everything, but everybody has something. God will never require what you don’t have. In 2 Kings, Elisha didn’t ask the poor widow what she lacked. He asked, “What do you have?” She felt like she had nothing, then remembered a little jar of oil. And that was enough!

In Mark 6, Jesus fed the five thousand with one boy’s lunch. God could’ve done the miracle without the boy’s lunch, but He didn’t. We are called to bring something to the table.Start using what you have, and let God multiply it.

2. Do what you can.

Another lie that sets us up for failure is, “You can be anything you want to be.” If you are 40 years old and fat, you can’t be an Olympic gymnast.
The statement should be, “You can be anything God wants you to be.” Quit trying to be something you’re not and trying to do something you aren’t equipped to do, and do what you can. Doing nothing can be worse than doing the wrong thing. Doing nothing is very seldom productive and it’s unscriptural. Do what you can, and God will do what you can’t.

3. Start where you are.

When you feel like you’re not moving forward, it’s easy to think you need to change locations. This can be just an excuse to do nothing where you are. If you’re not doing what you’re supposed to where you are, you’ll have the same problems somewhere else. Avoid thoughts and beliefs that constantly put your success in the future.

Your life can begin to change right now, right where you are! Start using what you have and doing what you can, right where you are! You may want to go into all the world, but the doors aren’t open. Go win your house or your neighbourhood. Many successful people started doing what they do in places of relative obscurity. You may think no one sees or cares, but God does.

When you work with God, He knows exactly what you have, what you can do, and where you are. You may think your efforts are weak, but just get started, and trust God. Our God is a deliverer, a multiplier, and a promoter, and He’s really good at what He does!
